Sunny day stuff!

It looks as though it’s snowing in my garden. In fact, it’s a mass of dandelion seeds and seeds from other plants that propagate themselves in similar fashion. It’s one of those classic summer scenes in England, even though it’s not actually summer.

Granddaughter Number One and her housemate are out and about with their American visitor. They have struck very lucky with the weather this weekend. At the moment they are eating ice-cream at Grandpa Greene’s ice-cream place in Diggle. She has just sent a photo of what looks like an icecream with a small bone-shaped biscuit on top. Her caption says, “Mags had a puppercino”. Mags (short for Magpie) is her border collie. We seem to have gone a little mad in providing stuff for our four-legged friends. Sometimes it seems to me it’s enough that we have “babycino” for toddlers!

Our daughter has taken her small people to a zoo somewhere in Yorkshire called the Ponderosa Zoo. I immediately thought of the old TV series Bonanza. This led Phil and me to try to remember the theme tune. All we could think of was the music from The Big Country, with Gregory Peck and Jean Simmonds. That is clearly our go-to western music. We had to good Bonanza to remind us of the theme tune.

Here’s a link to a story about a wine heist in Cáceres in Spain. It looks as though it could be the basis for a TV series. But it appears to me to be a bit crazy to pay thousands of pounds for a bottle of wine.

Granddaughter Number One has just moved her out and about venue to Castleshaw, up the road from our house, site of a Roman fort long ago. She has suggested I go and join her. Good idea. Off I go.

Life goes on. Stay safe and well, everyone!
