So here we are, soggily back in the UK. The River Tame is bouncing it’s way through our village but thankfully not bursting its bank. I abandoned the, idea of cycling to the market this morning. I went in later by bus. The market was very thin on the ground - too wet and wild for Jenny Biscuit to set up shop and the shoe-and-slipper man had everything covered in plastic, not good for, business but then, there were few prospective customers around. I was about to take a look at the fish stall when I spotted my bus coming along and decided to forego buying fish in favour of catching the bus and avoiding a 30 minute wait for the next one. So it goes.
The Supreme Court has ruled that the plan for shipping asylum seekers to Rwanda is unlawful. I have no idea if there is a difference between unlawful and illegal but the ruling means that for the:time being nobody is being sent to Rwanda. However, the principle of sending our asylum seekers to another country is accepted as perfectly lawful. There is talk of helping Rwanda to meet the necessary requirements. And it seems that our government is maybe prepared to leave the European Commission of Human Rights and to change our laws. So the struggle goes on. It’s not over yet.
Here’s a Michael Rosen (aka a pretend Boris Johnson) comment:
“Dear Mogg
Am horrified to hear that Suella has just had her Rwanda plan dumped in the bin. The Supreme Court is obviously stuffed full of tofu-eating woke cultural marxists. It's a den of subversives and must be abolished.

And here’s another:
“Dear Mogg
Andrew Mitchell is an annoying squirt. I have told the world what the International Court can or can't do in relation to the Middle East and I am of course right. Mitchell is pffft. Remember Socrates - he was wrong about Julius Caesar.

Meanwhile soldiers appear to have invaded to Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Interrogations have been taking place. Patients rooms are being searched. I wonder if they will find any Hamas activists.
On a less serious note here’s a report about stuff we might see in the sky:
“Skywatchers have a new space object to train their sights on: a toolbag that is now floating through space around Earth.
Nasa astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara were conducting a rare all-female spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) on 1 November when their toolbag gave them the slip, according to Nasa.
The astronauts, both on their first spacewalk, were making repairs on assemblies that allow the ISS solar arrays to track the sun continuously, reported SciTechDaily, which was documenting the spacewalk.
“During the activity, one tool bag was inadvertently lost. Flight controllers spotted the tool bag using external station cameras. The tools were not needed for the remainder of the spacewalk. Mission Control analyzed the bag’s trajectory and determined that risk of recontacting the station is low and that the onboard crew and space station are safe with no action required,” said Nasa on its blog.
The white, satchel-like bag is surprisingly bright, shining just below the limit of visibility to the naked eye, which means observers would be able to spot it using binoculars, according to Earthsky. Its visual magnitude is around a 6, making it slightly less bright than the ice giant Uranus.”
It’s unlikely we’ll see it around here - too much cloud, as usual!
Life goes on. Stay safe and well, everyone!
